HUNDREDS of homes suffered a power cut in a County Durham town this morning (May 27).
Northern Powergrid reported the outage in 270 homes in Ferryhill at about 9.42 this morning.
Power was restored about an hour later.

The outage comes a day after thousands of homes in County Durham, Tyne & Wear and Northumberland woke up to no electricity, as the Northern Powergrid confirmed problems.
At one point, at least 5,000 homes in County Durham were without power however, this was restored earlier yesterday (May 26) .
A Northern Powergrid spokesperson said: "We have had a high voltage incident this morning. It impacted 265 properties.
"Power went off at 9.42am and it was restored at 10.22am. It was due to reports of our conductors being grounded (the equipment on the overhead lines)."
