A DEAF and partially sighted puppy is searching for his forever home.
Blue, a one-year-old Crossbreed pup arrived at Dogs Trust Darlington in December 2021, where the veterinary team confirmed he was deaf and diagnosed his visual impairment.
Like all puppies, Blue requires plenty of mental and physical stimulation, and whilst he has been at the Darlington rehoming centre, he has been enjoying the new hydrotherapy facilities.
Blue visits the hydrotherapy suite weekly to use the underwater treadmill, which is a great enrichment activity for him, all whilst helping to build up the muscle mass in his legs.

Sharon Boult, Dogs Trust Darlington assistant manager, said: “Blue is a gorgeous boy, who doesn’t let his impairments stop him! He’s a cheeky chap, with plenty of love to give, but his new owners will need to be able to dedicate the time needed to meet his needs.
“Thanks to the players of People’s Postcode Lottery, whose support helps to fund our wonderful Canine Carers, we’re able to give dogs like Blue all of the extra love, care and attention they need, whilst they are with us.”
“As he is still so young, he is hoping for an adult only family who will be confident and committed to continuing his training. This may be a bit of a challenge, but it will be a very rewarding one!
Blue can live with another medium-large size dog, as he would benefit from a doggy role model to show him the way.
He is looking for a home with people who are initially around for most of the day and can slowly build up his leaving hours once he has settled in.
Fortunately, his visual and hearing impairments haven’t stopped him from having a zest for life and developing into playful, loving boy, who is looking for an understanding and dedicated forever home, suitable to his needs.
