THE beginning of holiday season is among us and holidaymakers from the North East were excited as the second TUI flight in nearly a decade left Teesside Airport.
Passengers jetted off to the Balearic Island of Majorca in Spain on Tuesday, May 17 after the summer 2022 route made its debut the week before.
Yesterday's flight was also the first time a TUI branded aircraft had arrived at Teesside Airport in a decade after the first flight was operated by a charter airline.

Inside the terminal building, buzzing holidaymakers made their way onto the aircraft at around midday, before the flight took off at around 1.30pm.
The departure comes as airport bosses said the first two TUI flights to Palma had been a "sell-out" success.

Ahead of TUI's return to Teesside, the Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen previously said: “We’re looking forward to seeing TUI return to Teesside next week for the first time in a decade, better yet that it's full of passengers.
"Seeing our airport busy and being used by local people to head off on their holidays to Majorca just shows how far we have come.
“We are ready for our best summer yet thanks to the multimillion-pound terminal redevelopment making it quicker and easier than ever before to fly from Teesside."
However, the departure also comes off the back of the airport's cancellation of its London Heathrow route which will end in two weeks' time.
