A MAN has been charged with attempted murder after an alleged stabbing at St Nicholas Hospital in Gosforth.
Shortly after 12.20pm on Tuesday (May 11), officers were called after a man had sustained injuries to his neck and back consistent with a bladed article.
An investigation was launched and now a 42-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder and is due to appear before Newcastle Magistrates' Court today (May 12).

The victim was taken to hospital but has since been discharged and continues to recover at home.
Now legal proceedings are active, the public are asked to avoid any speculation – in public or on social media- that could impact the case.
