THERE was much surprise as a police cordon and big emergency service presence in a busy part of Newcastle - but you do not need to be concerned.
That is because ITV film crews had descended onto the Quayside as filming is continuing for the hugely-popular series, Vera.
The area around the Hard Rock Cafe and Riverside Newcastle was completely shut down as crews were on the scene at 1pm on Wednesday (May 4).

Pictures captured the moment camera crews set up shop with an American trailer in the scene, while police tape marked the boundaries.
Near the filming location, a notice confirmed the area was being used to film scenes for the ITV show, Vera.
In a sign, it said that those standing in the area at time of filming acknowledge that they be photographed or filmed as part of the programme.

Later that evening, further pictures captured the moment film crews shot scenes outside a club with bright neon lights setting the scene.
It comes as part of Darlington was shut down to members of the public as Kenny Doughty, who plays DS Aiden Healy, filmed scenes last month.
Hundreds turned out to watch the filming take place outside Darlington Town Hall as part of filming for the up and coming series 12.
At the time, one woman Samantha Jakeway, turned up to the makeshift set almost an hour before filming.
She The Northern Echo: "I've been here since 8am on my own and hoping to see Vera, hoping to get a few photos."
It is not yet known when series 12 will air on ITV, but viewers are still set to be treated to two more feature-length episodes from series 11 which have not yet aired.
