These cats are searching for a forever home in the North East after facing difficult circumstances so far.

The RSPCA Cat Rehoming Hub works with local RSPCA branches to rehome cats and kittens rescued by RSPCA officers across the Darlington, Stockton, Northallerton, Middlesbrough, and North Yorkshire areas.

The cats have often faced cruelty, neglect and abandonment or sad situations where their owner could no longer care for them or passed away.

Here are just some of the cats presently looking for their new forever homes at the RSPCA Cat Hub.

Cats for adoption in the North East

Spike, Male

11 years old

The Northern Echo: Spike (RSPCA)Spike (RSPCA)

Spike is an adorable, friendly 11 year old male cat who is looking for a new home.  He has been overlooked, possibly because of his age, but he would make a great companion cat for a family with no young children.

He was a stray cat who was signed over by his owner to the RSPCA, as he kept wandering away from home. For this reason he is looking for a home outside Darlington, ideally with access to a catio, in case he goes walkabouts again! He seems to be able to get on with other cats.

Kipling, Male

18 months old

The Northern Echo: Kipling (RSPCA)Kipling (RSPCA)

Kipling is a friendly back and white male cat, and the longest resident of the RSPCA Cat Hub, despite being only 18 months old and an indoor cat. He is a high energy cat, so he wants to be the only cat in a household with no children.

Ideally he needs an experienced owner, as he may need time to settle into a new home, but he relaxes when he gets to know you!

Buzz and Bandit, Male

1 year old

The Northern Echo: Buzz and Bandit (RSPCA)Buzz and Bandit (RSPCA)

Friendly, laid back, one year old brothers Buzz and Bandit are looking for their new fur-ever home together.  They were signed over to the RSPCA when their owner was made homeless.  They are almost identical but Buzz has a pinker nose, while Bandit’s is blacker.  Buzz and Bandit would like access to a garden.  They have not lived with children before, but they should get on with kids.

Casper, Male

Four years old

The Northern Echo: Casper (RSPCA)Casper (RSPCA)

Casper is a black four year old male cat who is becoming more friendly as he gets used to life in the RSPCA cattery. He is looking to be the only cat in an adult only household and would like access to the outdoors.

Dash, Male

8 months old

The Northern Echo: Dash (RSPCA)Dash (RSPCA)

Dash is a sweet little eight month old black and white male cat who really lives up to his name!  He is very curious and loves to play and would like a large family with children who can help keep him occupied when he is not asleep! Dash is looking for access to a garden he can play in.
