A COUNTY Durham parent has been sentenced after failing to send their child to school in court this week.
Brian Linsley of Shirly Close, Evenwood, County Durham was ordered to appear before County Durham and Darlington Magistrates Court on Tuesday, April 26.

Linsley pleaded guilty and was proved guilty in absence, meaning he did not attend court.
The parent was discharged conditionally for 18 months, meaning if he commits an offence within that time he could face further action.
He was also made to pay £22 to victim services and £60 in court costs.
