A MAN was hit by a car and left with serious injuries including suspected stab wounds during a night of disorder in Middlesbrough.

Cleveland Police are appealing for information from the public as they investigate the incident where a man was hit by a vehicle, which then left the scene, in the Cass House Road area of Hemlington.

A man in his 20s sustained serious injuries, including suspected stab wounds, during the incident at around 6.30am this morning.

A 32-year-old man has been arrested.

Detectives are appealing to anyone who has private CCTV or dashcam footage which may have captured the incident to contact police on 101.

Officers believe two cars may have been involved thought to be a silver Ford Focus and a black Lexus.

Police also want to hear from anyone who saw these vehicles in the Hemlington area around the time of the incident.

Overnight, officers were also called to Hemlington from around 11.30pm to reports of disturbances in the street and antisocial behaviour in this area.

A helicopter from the National Police Air Service assisted police officers dealing with incidents on the ground.

Throughout today (Wednesday, April 27) officers have been carrying out visible patrols in the Hemlington area and this will continue.

No further arrests have been made at this time and enquiries continue.

In addition to checking footage of Cass House Road, officers are keen for people with footage or information relating to nearby Dallas Court, Dalcross Court or Dodford Road, to contact them.
