TWO people were taken to hospital after a multi-vehicle crash on Sunday.
Emergency services were called to the incident involving three cars shortly after 9am on the A177 Durham Road, near Stockton.
The road was closed both ways for several hours between Stockton and Thorpe Thewles as one person needed to be extracted from a vehicle after becoming trapped.

A NEAS spokeswoman said: “We received a call at 9.36am to reports of a three-vehicle road traffic collision on the A177 in Sedgefield at which one person reported to be trapped.
“We dispatched one Hazardous Area Response Team and two emergency ambulances.
“There were three patients at the scene – one was treated and discharged and two were taken to local hospitals.”
