A NORTH EAST pub boss famed for his controversial adverts and job listings is back at it again - and he isn't holding back.

Teesside lad Craig Harker has gone viral on social media after his latest job advert warning against those with "BO, bad breath and those playing Fifa" went live.

The owner of George Pub and Grills across the region, Mr Harker has made the headlines for his blunt adverts before.

And in 2019, he faced significant backlash from the public, politicians and campaigners right across the UK after posting an advert asking "would you punch your ex" in relation to a free steak.

But in his latest advert, where he advertises roles at his sites including branches in Middlesbrough and Redcar, Mr Harker appears to go at it again.

Appearing to dust off part of a daring advert which ran in November last year, he says: "It's that time again were I get inundated with CVs via email and messages on Facebook saying "any jobs" "now mate" or "cash in hand?" LOL."

After saying he is up for giving people a chance, even those who do not have experience, he warned warned against those who "don't want to be there."

He then says: "Those that attend with that fruity B.O, it's a no go. Always give your pits a wash before you come down for an interview, a quick whiff and spray those bad boys.

"There's probably a Superdrug local to most venues so go and get a 241 on sure spray and have a little tsssst before you walk in."

After urging applicants to prepare for the interview and not after a boozy night out, he says those with bad breath is a "no no."

He says: "Mucky teeth a big no no for me. Give us a big smile eh, if those nashers are black then stay back, white and you're alright especially when front of house greeting our customers as they walk through the doors."

After saying he also doesn't want applicants who "sit at home" all day playing FIFA and Call of Duty, he does offer assurances that whoever is successful will actually have a good time and "love the banter."

His advert left social media divided with some condemning the post for its abrupt tone, while others sided with Mr Harker and praised him for his approach.

'If you've got nothing nice, don't say it'

In a Facebook Live, Mr Harker previously claimed his blunt approach to his job adverts was honest and said: "Somebody said about the interview process that I put on, but you know, I think I was spot on - I was honest, I basically said turn up to that interview smart and dress to impress.

"It's not much to ask for, I worded it in a way that relates to most people, so if they can't cope with that - you pack of snowflakes on there - don't apply for the job, that's fine.

"If you haven't got a job, go and apply for another job - if you have got a job, keep your nose out of my business or if you've got nothing nice, don't say it."
