THIS week four drivers appeared before the court and were disqualified from driving, some for speeding and some for driving while under the influence of drugs.
Drivers caught speediing are sometimes given penalty points on their licence, however, in some cases, if it is a repeat offence or the speeding is excessive, they can be disqualified from driving.
However, drivers who are caught driving under the influence of alcohol or, in this case, drugs are often issued an immediate disqualification.
We've pulled together a list of all the drivers in the North East and North Yorkshire who were up in court this week and handed a driving ban:
Ivan Harrison, 28 of Neasham Road, Darlington
Harrison appeared before County Durham and Darlington Magistrates Court on Thursday, April 14.
He was charged with driving without insurance and was fined £660 as a result.

He was also disqualified from driving for six months and was made to pay £66 to victim services and £110 in court costs.
Karolis Juska, 21 of Dene Park, Harrogate, North Yorkshire
Park appeared before North Yorkshire Magistrates Court on Monday, April 18 charged with driving while over the limit for drugs.
He was fined £230 after driving under the influence of cocaine.
He was disqualified from driving for three years and was also made to pay £30 to victim services and £85 in court costs.
Raymond Keyter, 56 of Meadowfields Close, Easingwold, North Yorkshire:
Keyter appeared before North Yorkshire Magistrates Court on Thursday, April 14 charged with driving while over the limit of alcohol.

He was given a community order being found behind the wheel while almost three times over the limit.
Keyter was made to pay £95 to victim services and £85 in court costs and was disqualified from driving for 46 months.
Samantha Bladen, 40, of Howe Street, Middlesbrough
Bladen appeared before North West and Cumbria Magistrates Court on Thursday April 14.
She was charged with driving without third party insurance and was fined £660.
Bladen was made to pay £66 to victim services and £110 in court costs as a result of the offfence.
She was also disqualified from driving for four months.
