A DARLINGTON man has been jailed after he stole more than £140 worth of items from M&S and nearly £600 worth of items from Tk Maxx.
Paul Alan Hardy, 45 of North Road, Darlington, appeared before magistrates court on Thursday April 14 charged with the offences.

Hardy was charged with two cases of theft after stealing £589 worth of items from TK Maxx in Darlington.
He then went on to steal gin, meat and other items to the value of £148 from Marks and Spencer in Northallerton, North Yorkshire.

He pleaded guilty to both offences and was jailed for 12 weeks. He was also made to pay £148 in compensation after the Marks and Spencer offence.
