POLICE have confirmed why the M606 in Yorkshire has been closed this morning, causing disruption across the North.
A force spokesman said a man's body was found by the side of the motorway just before 7am and emergency services are at the scene.

Emergency services are attending on the M606 after a man’s body was found by the side of the motorway just before 7am. Enquiries are on-going to establish what has happened. Road closures in place north and southbound from the Staygate roundabout.
They said: "Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full facts of what has happened.
"Road closures were put in place north and southbound from the Staithgate Roundabout."
Drivers were urged to avoid the area, but traffic alerts are reporting that all lanes have now re-opened.
The top of the M606, close to the Cedar Court Hotel, remains shut while investigations continue.
