POLICE have launched an investigation following a serious assault in Gateshead which saw a “gang of offenders” get out of a car and stab a man in the arm.
According to Northumbria Police, the incident happened at 4.30pm yesterday (Saturday 16 April) on Durham Road in Gateshead.

A group of offenders reportedly got out of a vehicle and assaulted a male victim, who suffered non-life threatening injuries after he was stabbed in the arm.
Police say a 33-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and remains in police custody at this time.
A spokesperson from Northumbria Police said “an investigation is ongoing” and officers believe “all parties involved are known to each other.”
