North East businesses have the chance to win regional and national recognition for how they’ve blazed a trail with the launch of the North East England Chamber of Commerce business awards.
The categories are for businesses of all sizes with winners selected from specific parts of the region, North, Central and South.
John McCabe, chief executive, North East England Chamber of Commerce said "Our awards have been created to celebrate business diversity and success. They will help to promote everything great businesses do on a daily basis, to grow our economy. The honours will show clearly, real-life examples of a determination to succeed and overcome challenges. I urge all our members to enter this year’s awards and share their fantastic stories.”

Associate sponsor of the Chamber awards is Bernicia. Categories for the awards include business diversification, entrepreneur of the year, commitment to people and scale up business.
Closing dates for entries is 13 May and the Grand Final will be on 14 July at Sage Gateshead.
The Chamber Inspiring Females Awards will also be launched in the summer and its final will be held in November.
There is also the opportunity for a number of Chamber awards regional winners to go on to the national British Chambers of Commerce competition. The categories for these are best green business, business diversification of the year, entrepreneur of the year, diversity and inclusion and export business.
