ONE passenger had to be cut from their car and another was rushed to hospital earlier this morning (April 8) after a three-vehicle collision in Teesside closed the road for over an hour.
Emergency services rushed to the scene of the crash on Junction Road (B1274), Stockton, at around 7.15am after reports of a collision between a BMW 118I, a Citroen C4 and a Vauxhall Astra.
Firefighters from Stockton and Thornaby were first to the scene and were required to cut the roof of one of the vehicles and help the police and paramedics with the clear-up of the incident.

A spokesperson for Cleveland Fire and Rescue service said: "At around 7.30am, three fire units from Stockton and Thornaby attended a road traffic collision involving three vehicles. One person was extricated from a vehicle by Fire Brigade personnel. The crews left the incident with the police and ambulance crews at 8.20am."
Motorists who usually travelled the Junction Road (B1274) route had to be diverted after Cleveland Police closed the road from 7.30am until just after 9am.
A statement from the police force said: "Police were called to a report of a collision involving three vehicles at the junction of Jamieson Road and Junction Road around 7:30am this morning.
"The three vehicles involved were a BMW 118I, a Citren C4 and a Vauxhall Astra. One person was extricated from a vehicle by Cleveland Fire Brigade. The road is now cleared and was reopened at 9:05am."
Alongside the police and fire units, North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) sent one ambulance crew to support patients at the scene.
One person involved in the crash was taken to hospital for further treatment.
A NEAS spokesperson said: "We received a call at 7.15am to reports of a three-vehicle road traffic incident on Junction Road, Norton. We dispatched one ambulance crew and requested support from Cleveland Fire Brigade. We transported one patient to the University Hospital of North Tees for further treatment."
