DARLINGTON will host the television legend that is Brenda Blethyn next week as it was this week confirmed filming for ITV Vera would take place in the town.
The hugely-popular television star, who plans DCI Vera Stanhope in the hit series, will arrive along with cast and crew.
It comes as film crews and cast have been spotted all over the North East in recent weeks as filming gets underway for series 12.
But where exactly will filming take place and when?
It has already been confirmed that the Town Hall at Feethams in Darlington town centre will host the majority of filming with shots presumably inside and out.
Darlington Borough Council, who own the building earlier this week said filming will now take place at 12.30pm on Tuesday, April 12.
Members of the public have been invited to watch as they have done previously in town centres including Hartlepool, Chester-le-Street and Blyth.
In a statement this week, the council said an area will be cordoned off but that fans may be able to catch a glimpse of filming.
Where can you watch?
Although we know Brenda Blethyn and cast will be filming at the Town Hall, a specific location has not been revealed.
That means onlookers may not find out the exact location of filming until the big day, but it is likely members of the public will still have access to Feethams.
Those who decide to turn up and attempt to catch a glimpse have been urged to respect the filming process by the council.
Social media frenzy
After The Northern Echo first reported filming would be taking place in Darlington, hundreds of people took to social media to share their excitement.
Leanne Birkbeck said: "I wanna be an extra, bloody love Vera."
Val Roby said: "Love Vera and cast, can't wait for it to come back on TV."
Joyce Greenwood added: "Hurry up, I can't wait, love you Vera and all your other actors."
