POLICE have cordoned off a street in Middlesbrough after an air ambulance attended a crash which saw a pedestrian hit by a car, according to reports

The incident happened on Premier Road in Middlesbrough and police have cordoned off the street as a result.

A 30-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident, according to Cleveland Police.

Emergency services, including an air ambulance have attended the scene of the crash and one person has been air-lifted to hospital.

Some reports have suggested a pedestrian has been hit by a motorbike and police officers have remained at the scene.

A spokesperson for Cleveland Police said: "Police received a report at around 5.25pm this evening of a collision on Premier Road in Middlesbrough.

"A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of driving offences and remains in police custody at this time.”
