EMERGENCY services were called to the scene of a crash on the A66 near Darlington earlier this afternoon.
One vehicle was involved in the collision on the trunk road near Sadberge on Tuesday afternoon.
A grey Vauxhall Grandland had crashed into the central reservation.
A spokeswoman for Durham Constabulary said: "Police were called to reports of a one vehicle collision on the A66 at Sadberge, Darlington at around 3.45pm today (April 5).
"The collision involved a grey Vauxhall Grandland which collided into the central reservation.
One lane was closed and there was queueing traffic due to recovery work due to the incident between Stockton Road and Darlington Road.
However the road is now fully reopen.
