A DARLINGTON man was made to pay £1,000 in court this week after he was caught drink driving and being nearly three times over the limit.
Gary Richards, 36 of Southmoor Close in Darlington, appeared before magistrate's court on Monday April 4.
He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol when on February 13 he blew nearly three times over the drink driving limit.

Richards was fined £415 for the offence and was also disqualified from driving for six months.
He pleaded guilty to the offence and was also made to pay £42 to victim services and £500 to Crown Prosecution Service.
