A MAN has been charged with attempted robbery following an incident at a County Durham petrol station that saw him threaten a staff member with a weapon.
The attack happened at New Seaham Service Station in the early hours of Saturday (April 2) morning, where a staff member was threatened with a knife.

Durham Police has confirmed that Leon Savage has been arrested and charged with attempted robbery and threatening a person with a bladed article yesterday and appeared at Peterlee Magistrates’ Court today (April 4).
The 27-year-old, of Tunbridge Road, Sunderland, pleaded not guilty and was remanded into custody until his next hearing at Durham Crown Court on May 4.
