A MOTORIST was taken to hospital this morning after having to be cut out of their van that had flipped over and blocked off the carriageway of a major North East road.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the one vehicle crash on the A19 northbound near Billingham at around 6.30am on April 1.
Three units from Cleveland Fire and Rescue Service attended the crash and had to cut the driver from the van, before leaving the incident with paramedics from North East Ambulance Service.

The occupant of the van was attended to at the scene and then transported to North Tees Hospital for further treatment.
A spokesperson for the North East Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of a road traffic collision on the A19 in Thornaby shortly before 6.30am this morning.
"We dispatched one ambulance crew and transported one patient to North Tees Hospital."
