A VAN driver caught in Darlington using a mobile phone at the wheel has been fined in court.
Elliott Aiden Brook-Jones of Bede Terrace, Bowburn, pleaded guilty to magistrates in Peterlee on Wednesday (March 23) to using a handheld mobile phone or device while driving a vehicle on a road.

He committed the offence whilst driving a Mercedes Vito van on West Auckland Road in Darlington on August 21, 2021.
The 30-year-old was fined £66 and additional court costs and charges brought the total up to £190.
His driving licence was also endorsed with six penalty points.
