Wilton Universal Group has welcomed its latest tenant to its new 58-acre Haverton Hill Offshore Base.
Last Mile logistics solutions, which provides national and regional delivery and warehousing services, has relocated its headquarters from Riverside Park, taking on a much larger facility to house its truck fleet at Wilton.
The Teesside-based company, which also operates a warehouse facility in Stockton, is growing its presence in the area in response to the increased level of investment in the area as part of the government’s levelling up initiative, including the transformation of the former Redcar steelworks site into Teesworks, and the creation of the Teesside Freeport.

It’s the latest business to establish itself at the Haverton Hill Offshore Base, with recruitment and HR specialist Jackson Hogg recently announcing its intention to increase its headcount by 12 after opening a new office on the site.
The 58-acre site has undergone significant refurbishment and upgrades to welcome new tenants and operations following its acquisition by Wilton Universal Group in 2021.
It joins Wilton’s adjacent Port Clarence Offshore Base on the banks of the River Tees to create a 112-acre super site.
Bill Scott OBE, chief executive of Wilton Universal Group, said: “Haverton Hill Offshore Base has not only increased our capacity to take more and larger projects, but it’s also attracting ambitious businesses like Last Mile Logistics that are keen to be part of Tees Valley’s 21st century resurgence.”
“With the site being part of the Freeport this allows our tenants to work with international businesses and reap the rewards of this fantastic location.”
Chris Hardy, managing director of Last Mile said, “We’re delighted to have opened our new headquarters at Haverton Hill. This location will add further capacity to our operation and meet the growing demand for our services.
“This move will allow us to expand our capabilities while continuing to deliver solutions in the industry.”
