A MAN in Sunderland was left with “serious” head injuries last night (March 18) after being assaulted outside of a bar.

The incident reportedly happened shortly after 1am on Friday March 18 when police were called to Ttonic Bar on Vine Place, Sunderland following a report of disturbance between three men.

One man, aged 51, has been left with serious head injuries as a result of the incident, according to police.

An investigation has now been launched which has seen one man arrested and released under investigation.

Enquiries are ongoing and police are now seeking anyone who witnessed the incident or who was outside the bar at the time to come forward.
