A BRAND new Sherlock Holmes production hits the stage at Middlesbrough Theatre this month.
Produced by Hexham-based theatre company Théâtre Sans Frontières (TSF), Sherlock Holmes: The Speckled Band is an original adaptation of the popular story by Arthur Conan Doyle.
One of the first locked room mysteries, the production is one of the few Sherlock Holmes tales to feature a big female presence.
TSF Joint Artistic Director John Cobb said: “We are very pleased to be touring live theatre again and are looking forward to entertaining our audiences with this brand new adaptation of a Sherlock Holmes classic.”

Performers include local North East-based actors Bob Nicholson in the role of Sherlock Holmes and Rebecca Jameson who plays Dr Watson and Julia Stoner.
Other actors include Mariae Smiarowska, a Polish-American performer, and musician Tim Dalling who will also be performing the original live score he has written for the production.
The play is suitable for young people aged 10 and over, who along with their friends and families, will be fascinated by Holmes' processes of detection.
Adults will also be enticed into a world of suspense with edgy live music, gothic motifs and melodrama.
Sherlock Holmes: The Speckled Band will be at Middlesbrough Theatre on Wednesday, March 23.
