A MAJOR job role in Government is being advertised in Darlington - and it closes in just under a weeks' time.
The Treasury is looking for someone to be the Assistant Private Secretary to the Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury.
According to the advert, the successful applicant will be expected to begin working at the Darlington Economic Campus.
Once the Treasury is established in Darlington, a new permanent building could be built close to the National Horizon Centre and CPI, although no plans have been agreed yet.
What's the job?
According to the job advert, whoever gets the civil service role will be responsible for providing "high quality" support to the Exchequer Secretary.

It states that responsibilities include: "Providing outstanding support to the Exchequer Secretary on what can be complex, fast-paced and frequently high-profile issues, including by persuasively representing the minister’s view in the department.
"Ensuring that the Exchequer Secretary receives consistently high quality, clear and well-balanced advice with which to advance the government’s priorities, and that they are appraised of major emerging risks and advised appropriately on their handling.
"Ensuring the Exchequer Secretary is well-briefed for meetings and events; attend and take minutes where appropriate; plan and attend trips relevant to the post’s portfolio, working closely with press office.
"Supporting the Exchequer Secretary in their Parliamentary duties in the House of Commons on relevant policy issues, including debates in the Chamber, select committee appearances and secondary and primary legislation; as well as correspondence with MPs and other stakeholders.
"Building excellent working relationships with key stakeholders – Treasury officials, other ministerial offices in Treasury and other departments and external.

"Working with other Ministerial Private Offices to ensure that the private office function in the Darlington Economic Campus (DEC), runs smoothly for all Ministers, including arranging agendas, compiling briefing packs and advice boxes, overseeing logistics, and ensuring effective technology is in place.
"Supporting Ministerial visits in and around Darlington, where the role is based (within a DEC MinComm unit of four people).
"Contributing flexibly to the day-to-day running of the office and help create a positive, supportive and friendly working environment."
Here's the pay and how to apply
The successful applicant will be paid between £29,320 - £35,000 with interviews commencing at the end of the month on March 28.
