A serious collision between two vehicles at the end of last week left two with broken bones and another with a head injury. 

Officers from Cleveland Police were called to a crash involving two cars on Stockton's Bishopton Road at 10.30pm on Friday (March 4). 

The incident involved a red VW Golf, which was travelling along Bishopton Road towards Stockton Town Centre, and a grey Dacia Logan taxi, which was travelling in the opposite direction.

The collision occurred close to St Bede’s Church on Bishopton Road.

During the incident, the male taxi driver suffered a head injury and the male passenger was treated at the scene with a broken leg and arm.

The driver of the Golf required treatment for a broken ankle.

Following the incident, officers arrested the driver of the Golf, a 29-year-old man, on suspicion of a driving offence and police enquiries are ongoing.

Officers are now asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has CCTV or dashcam which may assist their enquiries to call the Roads Policing Unit on 101, quoting reference 036745.
