POLICE officers searching for a missing North East man have confirmed that they've found his body after launching in-depth enquiries.
Gateshead man Jamie Grant, 27, was last seen at his home in Whickham on February 8.
After going missing, emergency services launched an extensive search and several enquiries were carried out to locate Jamie.
However, Northumbria Police confirmed today (March 5) that they found a body along the River Derwent yesterday (March 4).

Formal identification has taken place and his family are currently being supported by specialist officers at this devastating time.
Police do not believe there to be any third party involvement in the death and a report will now be made for the coroner.
Detective Chief Inspector Angela Hudson, of Northumbria Police, said: “This is an incredibly sad update and one we certainly did not hope to deliver.
“We want to thank those who shared our appeal to help find Jamie and our thoughts remain with his family and loved ones. Our specialist officers will continue to offer them support during this extremely difficult time.”
