A CLEVELAND Police officer is facing a gross misconduct hearing after she was convicted of drink driving.
PC Jodie Smith has left the force since she was caught driving whilst twice the alcohol limit in January.
The 25-year-old was convicted of driving with 75 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath when she appeared at Teesside Magistrates' Court - the legal limit is 35.
Despite no longer being a serving police officer she will still face a disciplinary hearing, which could see her barred from joining any other force in the country if she is found guilty of discreditable conduct.
She was stopped as she was driving on Darlington Road, Stockton, on January 10 and appeared in court two weeks later.
Smith's disciplinary hearing is due to take place at Scotswood House, Thornaby Place, Thornaby, at 10am on Wednesday, March 9, when she will face a discreditable conduct charge.
Members of the public are allowed to attend the hearing but they must register with Cleveland Police beforehand.
