Kevin Hydes, chief commercial officer of Tim Hortons franchise in the UK said: “We have a huge fan base in the North of England, so are particularly excited to be bringing Tim Hortons to Teesside for the first time.
“We’ve had lots of requests to bring a restaurant to the area, with several communities on both sides of the river and our nearest site over 40 minutes away in Washington.”
“We are proud to be investing in the local community and are recruiting for a variety of full and part-time roles. We encourage local fans of Tim Hortons to keep an eye out for more news as we develop our plans.”
The chain, which has been available in the UK since 2017, has announced ambitions to create 2,000 jobs across the country, opening franchises in every major town and city in the next year.
Its first venue in the North East opened in Washington, at The Galleries Retail Park, in 2021.
The Teesside Park venue will have dine-in seating for up to 136 guests, with additional external seating available, as well as its drive-thru service, and will also offer local delivery.
