A MAN was taken to hospital after a BMW crashed through several garden walls, fences and was set alight.

Two people were injured in the incident, which happened in Stockton last night.

Emergency services were called to Dunmail Road at about 7.30pm on Friday following a report that a grey BMW estate had crashed through several garden walls and fences.

The unoccupied vehicle was then set alight.

Police, firefighters and paramedics attended the scene.

Two men were injured and one was taken to hospital by ambulance for facial and hand injuries.

The other person did not require hospital treatment.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
