The is one of the first stores to offer a wide range of products for customers from clothes, frozen items, fruit and veg and season items.
According to Tom Hill, Head of Transformation at Poundland, the store is set to be one of the first Poundland's where customers can complete a weekly shop, or “that’s the idea."
Explaining the idea of the UKs biggest store, he said: “The idea is, customers need value more than ever right now, and so what we’re trying to do is provide it in as many different places and as many weekly shops as you can.”
Consisting of two floors - the ground floor features a range of food items as well as hair and beauty and small appliances.
Meanwhile, the second floor features a large clothing section, offering women’s clothes, men’s clothes and children’s clothes.
Mr Hill said that the store was trying to push their “partnership with Disney” through “call-out” signs.
He said: “Customers are encouraging us to do this more and more and they’re buying more and more clothes from us and round here you’ll see more and more partnerships from Disney now and such.”
This floor also features a homeware section, sporting a wide range of products from home décor to household appliances.
Mr Hill stressed that the Teesside Poundland was one of the only stores in the country to offer household appliances, the other being, the now second largest, store in Nottingham.
He said “Because you’re in the biggest Poundland you’re going to see some new surprises and inclusions, so for the first time we’ve got some Russel Hobb, and small domestic appliances
“You can buy an iron from us now or a toaster or a kettle.”
The store also features a trolly system, self-checkouts and belted checkouts, allowing shoppers to check-out with more products than other Poundland stores.
Poundland have said that shoppers will be able to enjoy value they have come to expect, but with “more choices than ever before.”
It will also be one of the few stores in the country to offer wines, beers and spirits, with the store having a small selection near to the entrance.
The store will open at 8am tomorrow morning (Saturday February 26) when the mayor of Stockton, Councillor Kevin Faulks, will carry out the official opening.
