THE A66 is currently closed to high-sided vehicles due to high winds.
Highways officers have closed the major road between Bowes, County Durham, and Brough, Cumbria, as crosswinds batter the region.
The enforcement, which was introduced at around 11am this morning, is yet to be lifted.
High sided vehicles have been banned from driving on the trunk road on several occasions over the past few weeks as Storm Dudley, Eunice and Franklin brought wind, rain and snow to the area.
More to follow.
