A North East restaurant has been named in the Michelin star guide for 2022.
The Michelin Great Britain & Ireland Guide for 2022 saw many new Michelin star additions with 19 restaurants awarded one star.
Five new restaurants were awarded two Michelin stars while one new restaurant was awarded three Michelin stars.
Among the new additions praised in the latest guide is Pine, a fine dining restaurant found in East Wallhouses, Northumberland.
Pine is the debut restaurant of Northumberland-born Cal Byerley and partner Sian Buchan.
From classic three-tiered afternoon teas to an evening tasting menu, Pine serves dishes cooked with locally sourced and foraged ingredients.
Set in an old cow barn, you can tuck into the sugar kelp dumpling, North sea trout and sour cream while admiring the Northumberland landscape and Hadrians Wall.
Other tasting menu highlights include langoustine claw, artichoke and cured pork belly or twice brewed choux, cured beef and brown butter.
There is a seperate vegetarian sample menu which offers delights like the roast pumpkin sourdough with Pine's own butters.
The restaurant has won the hearts of foodies across the UK with 5-star rated Tripadvisor reviews.
One reviewer from Birmingham said: "Can’t believe we’ve not heard of this restaurant before now - what an absolute treat. Exceptional experience from start to finish.
"The 16 course tasting menu is stunning, beautiful food served impeccably, every course was unique & extremely tasty, presented beautifully.
"The thing I loved the most was this was fine food at its absolute best but served with just a hint of informality and a lack of pretentiousness which was so refreshing. Amazing evening and cannot recommend Pine highly enough - well done to all involved, just superb! An absolute triumph."
Another customer from Scotland said: "We visited for Afternoon tea which is actually lunch and it was absolutely outstanding. The visual theatre when the various elements of the tea are brought out and laid out in front of you creates a real WOW factor."
