A MAN in his 30s was taken to hospital with chest injuries after a rush hour crash in Durham city centre.
Police were called at 5.25pm last night (Wednesday, February 9) to reports of a two-vehicle collision on Leazes Road involving a car and motorbike.
A spokesman for the North East Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 5.24pm to reports of a road traffic collision on the junction of Leazes Road and New Elvet in Durham.
“We sent a rapid response paramedic, an emergency ambulance and a team from the Great North Air Ambulance Service.
“A male patient was taken to University Hospital North Durham for further treatment.”

Durham Constabulary said both vehicles were removed from the scene.
A spokesman said: "Police were called at 5.25pm last night (February 9) to reports of a two vehicle collision on Leazes Road, Durham involving a car and motorbike.
"A man in his 30s was taken to hospital with chest injuries.
"Both vehicles have since been recovered from the scene."
