A MAJOR city centre road is closed due to a crash.
The A690 Leazes Road Westbound in Durham city centre is currently closed while the emergency services respond to the incident.
There is also congestion to Sherburn Road in Gilesgate.
The crash took place at the Leazes Bowl roundabout at around 5.50pm.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and find an alternative route.
