Tyers had been suspected of speeding in an Audi on the A19 at Kilvington near Thirsk on August 16, 2020.
The speeding offence was withdrawn, but Tyers, of Mount Pleasant Grange, Stockton, was charged with failing to give information relating to the identification of the Audi driver.
He denied the offence but magistrates found him guilty on Monday.
The 23-year-old was fined £657 and additional court costs and charges brought the total he has to pay up to £1,343.
Six penalty points were also added to his licence.
