POLICE officers investigating a fight on-board a North East train have today (February 8) released CCTV images in connection to the incident and are looking for witnesses to come forward.
British Transport Police are asking for help from members of the public over the incident, which saw the violent fight break out on a Newcastle to Carlisle rail service between 7.30pm and 8pm on Saturday, January 15 this year.
The incident broke out between a group of men in the train’s carriage as it travelled between Haltwhistle and Carlisle, which caused significant distress to other passengers on-board the service.

Officers from BTP believe the men in the images may have information which could help their investigation. They are also requesting any passengers on-board the service get in contact to assist them with their enquiries.
If anyone recognises the men in the image, or has any information on the fight, they are asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 161 of 16/01/22.
