A WOMAN accused of murdering a two-year-old boy has made her first appearance in court.
Carol Hodgson is charged with murdering Daniel James Hodgson Green, who police say died following an incident at a property in Guisborough.
Cleveland Police attended a report of a concern for safety in the North East town at 10.07am last Wednesday.
The toddler, who was named by the force over the weekend, was taken to hospital by ambulance but died.
Hodgson, of Upper Garth Gardens, Guisborough, entered no pleas when she appeared at Teesside Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
The 39-year-old wore a grey T-shirt and spoke only to confirm her name, date of birth and address.
She was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Teesside Crown Court tomorrow.
Daniel's family released a photograph of the toddler this morning.
Emergency services were called to a bungalow on Upper Garth Gardens and Daniel was taken to hospital but was pronounced dead the same day.
Floral tributes were placed outside the bungalow last week.
