AN uninsured special constable is due to face a gross misconduct hearing after swapping seats with a passenger.
Daniel Hodgson will face a Cleveland Police disciplinary panel for breaching professional standards.
If he is found guilty of the breach he could be barred from working or volunteering with every force across the country.
The misconduct charge read: "The officer is alleged to have breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour in respect of Honesty and Integrity and Discreditable Conduct relating to allegations of knowingly driving a motor vehicle on a public road without valid insurance and seeking to evade justice by avoiding police and swapping seats with the passenger.
"It is alleged he was dishonest when informing officers of his role as a Special Constable and failed to disclose the fixed penalty notice he received."

The special constable is the latest officer to face the sack at the force after a number of disciplinary hearings in the last few months.
PC Christopher Marrison had been placed before an accelerated misconduct hearing after accepting a criminal caution for unlawfully accessing Cleveland Police computers.
He photographed the information before sharing it with a family member.
The officer was sacked for gross misconduct following a disciplinary hearing last November.
In December, a police officer who had been warned about his timekeeping was sacked after claiming he helped out at a car accident to cover up for another late arrival at work.

The disciplinary panel heard how PC Siggens claimed to have witnessed a car spin-off the road on the A19 as he made his way to work at Hartlepool police station.
The following month, another police officer was sacked after using the force computer to dig up information about a disgruntled member of the public before sharing it in a Facebook message where he branded the man a racist.
The 15-year veteran was dismissed without notice after a disciplinary panel ruled he had breached a number of regulations when he published the sensitive information stored on Cleveland Police's computer system to brand Mr Hardy racist in 2018.
- Special Constable Hodgson's hearing will be held at Scotswood House, Thornaby Place, Stockton, on Monday, February 7 at 10am is open to the public but anyone wishing to attend must register in advance with the force.
