A NORTH East bus company is making some changes to fares and ticket zone boundaries in the region that will affect regular commuters and occasional passengers.
From January 30, Arriva is simplifying its fares to make them easier to understand, it's also changing some ticket zone boundaries.
Those who use public transport on a regular basis may want to double-check which tickets they would normally ask for upon boarding.
Teesside & East Cleveland
Arriva is removing this zone and merging it with the existing Tees Valley zone to create one zone covering all areas.
Passengers who normally purchase this ticket should now buy the Tees Valley Zone, which will provide the same level of travel validity, and will also include Darlington.

Tees Valley
This zone will see reductions in price following a merge with the Teesside and East Cleveland Zone.
Additionally, it will cover more of Darlington, following the extension of the Darlington Town Zone.
Darlington Town
This zone will now include Hurworth, Middleton St George, Dinsdale and Teesside Airport, providing a more cost-effective option for regular travellers on Service 12.

Darlington District
This zone is now extended to include Scotch Corner, Richmond, and Catterick, providing a more cost-effective option for regular travels on Service X26/X27.
Durham City
This zone has now been removed and has been merged with the existing Durham City and Brandon Zone.
Passengers who normally purchase this zone should now buy the Durham City and Brandon Zone.

Durham City and Brandon
Arriva has now created one simple ticket that covers most journeys within the city.
It has also extended the ticket to cover Bowburn and Sherburn Hill, providing benefits for users of services in these areas.
Prices in this zone have changed to reflect these changes.
