A MAJOR North East road is closed after a crash on Thursday morning.
The A1(M) Northbound is currently closed, with around 3.5 miles of queueing traffic building in the area due to an accident at Junction 60 on the A689 (Bradbury).
Delays of around 15 minutes are currently expected.
It is believed the crash took place in the roadworks area.
Motorists are being diverted via the exit and entry slip roads.
Emergency services are at the scene.
