THREE people have been arrested on suspicion of drug and animal cruelty offences following an operation in Darlington.

Community intelligence led to the operation, which was carried out yesterday and involved officers from Durham Police, working with the Environment Agency and RSPCA. 

A number of warrants were carried out and a quantity of drugs and cash was seized.

Three people being arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs, possession with intent to supply drugs and animal cruelty.

Temporary Sergeant Paul Vardy, from Darlington Neighbourhood Police Team, said “This is an excellent example of collaborative work between partner agencies acting on local intelligence to disrupt criminality in Darlington.

"I would like to thank the residents of Darlington for their continued support, which is invaluable for operations such as this.”
