DARLINGTON Police has claimed that reports of anti-social behaviour have reduced by 15 per cent in the last year.

As Yarm Road was identified as one of the town’s "hotspots," The Northern Echo went down and asked the people of Yarm Road their opinion on anti-social behaviour in the area.

One man said: “Those quad bikes are really annoying and dangerous if you ask me. I always worry that an elderly person will get knocked down by one.”

A shop manager said: “Most customers are absolutely fine, normal people, but we do get some anti-social people, sometimes kids, who find it fun to just be a nuisance really and come out with foul language as if that will shock us.”

A woman said: “There's nothing for kids to do round here so it's not really surprising that some of them amuse themselves by annoying people.”

Another woman said: “I live round here but I work in the town centre. I wouldn't choose to shop round here cause it's just not a great area.”

The manager of Yarm Road Fish and Chips said: “We don’t really experience anti-social behaviour. I’m not from Darlington so I don’t know about the rest of Yarm Road.”

A man said: “I think we’re always going to get some anti-social behaviour up here, but it’s not like this is the only part of Darlo with that problem.”
