A DARLINGTON Post Office is set to be relocated to a new location.
The Geneva Road Post Office is set to move from 377 Geneva Road, Firthmoor, to nearby 371 Geneva Road as part of ongoing plans to modernise the Post Office network.
Opening hours at the new site would more than double, upgrading the facility to 112 hours of service a week. A wide range of products and services will be available at the new site.
A local consultation has now been launched to seek residents views on the proposal.
A statement from the Post Office said: "It would be one of our local style branches with Post Office services provided from a counter alongside the retail counter of the convenience store.
"The new opening hours would be the same as the store Monday to Sunday: 7am – 11pm.

"This would be 112 hours of Post Office service a week, which is more than double the current hours of the branch. This would make it far more convenient to visit.
"We are confident that introducing a local style branch alongside a successful retail store is the most effective way to safeguard sustainable Post Office services in the local community into the future.
"We are now starting a period of local consultation. We would like your views on access and the service offered at the new location. We are looking for feedback about accessibility, local community issues and anything that we can do to make life easier for our customers.
"Consultation will close on 25 February 2022. Customers can share their views during the consultation online at postofficeviews.co.uk with the branch code 177309.
"Submissions can also be made via email to comments@postoffice.co.uk, by post to Freepost YOUR COMMENTS, or by telephone 03452 66 01 15 or Textphone 03457 22 33 55."
