OVER the last few days, the majority of places in the North East and North Yorkshire have been taken over by snow and ice.

Love it or hate it, the region has welcomed the cold weather conditions, with yellow weather warnings still in place.

For some, it was more of a burden than something to enjoy and look at, as several roads were forced to close, including the A66 between Scotch Corner and Brough today (January 7). 

With more snow set to grace the area over the weekend, we look at the best photos from over the last several days.
