A WOMAN remains in hospital after sustaining serious injuries in a collision last week.
The 62-year-old pedestrian was involved in a collision with a van on The Spital in Yarm on Thursday morning and was later taken to James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough.
On Tuesday, a Cleveland Police spokeswoman confirmed the woman remained in hospital in a “critical but stable condition”.
The driver of the van, a 61-year-old man, was arrested in connection with the incident and later released. Police continue to carry out inquiries.
The road was closed from the roundabout at the end of Yarm High Street to Leven Road for around six hours as officer investigating the collision.
A spokesperson for Cleveland Police said: “
“Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, and hasn’t already spoken to police to call 101, reference 220772.
“This includes anyone with dashcam or CCTV which may assist officers. Officers not only want to see footage from The Spital at time of the incident but also from the time surrounding the incident, from the area of the Shell Petrol Station on Thirsk Road (where the A67 joins Thirsk Road), up to The Spital.”
