FIREFIGHTERS were called to the scene of a fire at a popular Teesside shopping facility.

Four crews from Cleveland Fire Brigade tackled the blaze inside the H&M store in Teesside Park on Thursday morning.

The fire broke out in the staff room on the first floor of the building. The extent of the damage caused by the fire is unknown.

A witness at the scene said further fire engines were in attendance at the back of the store.

Firefighters used breathing apparatus, a hose reel and a dry powder extinguisher to tackle the fire.
