The Stockton couple of Jordan Turner and dad Liam Westoby welcomed baby girl Jesy at 5:44am on Christmas morning.
But the birth was not straightforward and instead saw mum Jordan give birth in the ambulance outside the entrance to North Tees Hospital.
Baby Jesy was the first baby to be born at the hospital on Christmas Day and weighed 7lbs 11oz.
At Darlington Memorial Hospital, baby Thomas was the first to be born at 5:53am to mother Sarah.
The hospital’s labour ward staff also reported two women giving birth while en route to the hospital or still at home on Christmas morning.
And on Christmas Eve, Hiba Baqal and Mahmood Naqesh-Bandi from Hartlepool celebrated the birth of a new baby boy born at 8:43pm, weighing 7lb 9oz.
